I cannot believe I have a first grader! I just finished tucking Carter in for the night and I can’t help but reflect on how quickly he is growing up. It seems like only yesterday I was holding him in the hospital studying his every feature. Now I have an amazing 6 year old who is becoming more independent each day. He is very excited about tomorrow, but also very nervous. I reassured him that every one is nervous and that is to be expected on the first day. I can easily remember the feelings I had the night before the first day of school (when I was a teacher). I loved teaching and really miss it at times. I am thankful to be home with my kids and extremely grateful that there are so many wonderful teachers in Carter’s school!
This summer was so much fun! We enjoyed a couple of great vacations, many pool days, and so many other fun activities. I am really going to miss the flexibility of summer. I loved having my kids home (most of the time) and will miss having everyone together. Since summer can’t go on forever, I am excited about the start of a new school year. I can’t wait to see what my boys learn this year. I can’t wait to see their excitement on the first day.
As I go to sleep tonight, I am full of prayers and hope for a good school year! I wish the same for you and your family!
Pictures coming tomorrow of the first day…
