Ethan’s 1st birthday party

We celebrated Ethan’s first birthday on Saturday. He won’t turn one until May 21st, but this weekend was the best time for us to celebrate. I had so much fun planning his party. Rather than just having a family party, we did things a little different with Ethan’s first birthday and had family and friends over to celebrate. Even though a year has passed, there is still hardly a day that goes by, that I don’t think about how blessed we are with a healthy baby despite the way he entered this world. It seems so hard to believe that it has almost been a year ago that I wrote this. We owe so much to our family and friends for all the help, love, support, and prayers they gave us through that time. We were thrilled that they were able to celebrate this big milestone in Ethan’s life with us!

We were blessed with a perfect day for an outdoor party. Zach grilled out hamburgers and hot dogs and everyone spent the afternoon outside enjoying an awesome spring day. The kids had SO much fun playing outside together.

Awesome cake by Brooke O’Dell!

Just a handful of the kiddos enjoying lunch outside.

The whole crew!

LOVE my baby boy!

Ethan actually got a little shy while we were singing Happy Birthday.

Really wasn’t too sure about the cake. He liked to eat it, but only if someone fed him.

Seth stayed right beside Ethan the entire time he ate cake. I think he was waiting for his turn to dive in!

Finally getting the idea…

Happy boy!

Family of 5!

Nana and Papa sneaking in a hug and picture before they had to leave.

Present time. Clearly, Ethan was much more into eating the wrapping paper than he was opening his presents. Don’t worry…he had plenty of help with his two older brothers and cousin.

What a great day that we will always remember!

  1. Great pictures from a fun party! Thanks for inviting us. We have enjoyed watching Ethan grow this year. He is adorable just like his big brothers.
