A weekend for the boys!

Whew…what a weekend! We are all completely exhausted! First of all, Carter is doing really well without the pappy. He has asked for them several times but seems to be okay when we tell him they’re broken. He has gone to sleep quickly every night (except the first) and fell asleep after only 10 minutes today when we laid him down for his nap. I am so thankful!!!

Our weekend started at the zoo on Saturday morning. Zach took Carter and met his mom and dad, his sister and brother-in-law, and their 3 kids. Carter had a great time. He loves the zoo. When I asked him what he saw, he told me, “monkeys, fishes, and waterfalls.” Zach said these were his favorite three things. He loved the picnic and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his cousins.

On Sunday, Craig and Kasey came over for the afternoon and evening. Carter got to play outside with them and loved the extra attention. He even convinced his Uncle Craig to read him his bedtime books. Seth got lots of cuddles and laughed so much for Craig and Kasey. We had a great visit!

Carter and I planted some flowers on Sunday. All he wanted to do was water them with his watering can. The flowers were flooded by the time he was done!

On Monday morning we washed the cars. I know it doesn’t sound like a big deal, but this is something Carter LOVES to do. By the time we were done, he was soaking wet and completely exhausted. Seth watched the events from his bouncy seat for a while and then got fussy so we came inside. Seth has started squealing. He is proud when he makes his high-pitch noise. He loves the attention that he gets for it. 🙂

On Monday afternoon, we met some friends at the park for a picnic. Seth was great! He played in his stroller for a while and was completely entertained by a couple of 3 year old girls! He took a short catnap and was happy until it was time to come home. Carter loved watching the big boys play ball. He wanted so badly to be a part of the game, but was just too little. He loved to play on the slides and climb on the dinosaurs. Zach and I joked on the way home tonight that this was Carter’s dream weekend. I think it is safe to say that it was a dream weekend for all of us. We had a great weekend together!
